Courting Spirits: Pacts, Agreements, and Container Magick
We exist in a writhing sea of spiritual forces, energetic frequencies moving through and around us in an endless ebb and flow. Across various traditions, people have developed technologies to tune and harness those frequencies to their own ends; be it protection, abundance, focus, love, wealth, or domination. In this class, we will explore some of the ways in which Afro-Atlantic cultures have worked to manifest particular entities, commune and develop relationships with them, and enlist their assistance in various aspects of life. We will deal specifically with the crafting of spiritual devices and containers for contacting and housing various forces. So much more than "spells" and "wishes"; this class will delve into the ethical considerations, suggested protocols, and possible consequences of entreating the presence and participation of these energies.
